The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I just finished reading the first of three books with my sons and had a difficult time putting it down!  I would recommend this book for my 4th grade friends or older.  This is a science fiction novel written about a 16 year old girl named Katniss who lives in the country of Panem where North America once existed.  Each year the government organizes an event called the Hunger Games.  Two participants are chosen from each district to play until there is only one person standing.  This book contains violence and therefore I would only recommend it to older students and adults.
